Old School Model Works : Electric Conversion Suggestions


We have teamed up with Innov8tive Designs to provide suggestions for anyone wanting to convert our OSMW kits to electric power. Innov8tive is a well known and very reputable supplier of high quality electric motors, ESC's, LiPo battery packs as well as other products.

They have provided us this list of suggested motors, ESC's, batteries and props for each of our kits. You'll find that information, along with their computed specs (watts, RPM, thrust, etc.) when using either their BadAss or Cobra power systems. The Cobra power systems are usually less expensive and the BadAss systems are typically have the higher performance. Both choices are shown so you can choose between these brands and pick the one that's right for you.

We've also provided direct links to each of the suggested motor, ESC and battery options. Clicking any of those links will bring up Innov8tive's web page in a new window - where you can see all their info and purchase directly from them.

BadAss Notes: For a jump up in performance you could go one of two ways, either to the BA-2320-1310 or to the 2814-1300. The 2320 motor weighs 3.23 ounces and the 2814 motor weighs 4.13 ounces. Both of these motors can spin the same 8x6, 9x4.5 and 9x6 props used on the Cobra 2814 motor, but they will have a bit higher performance that the Cobra motor.
